MWC 2018 in Barcelona this February made waves across the industry, and Ruckus Networks (under our new parent company, ARRIS) was right in the thick of it. We had prime position in Hall 2 – in fact, you could even see us from the walkway!
While much of the conversation this year focused on 5G, Ruckus had two big announcements at the show to shake up the networking industry and give consumers and media something to buzz about while they wait for the reality of 5G technology.
First, we announced the launch of the Ruckus IoT suite, which makes it a lot simpler for enterprises to jump into the IoT revolution. The suite allows enterprises to use their existing Wi-Fi infrastructure to securely connect and manage the myriad of IoT protocols—which otherwise would require their own separate networks. Ruckus demonstrated the IoT-ready Access Points (APs) at our booth alongside partner ASSA ABLOY to showcase the multi-standard wireless access capabilities.
Secondly, Ruckus launched its ground-breaking CBRS-band OpenG™ LTE portfolio. The OpenG LTE portfolio enables organizations to deploy their own private LTE networks as easily as they deploy Wi-Fi, allowing them to address business-critical use cases.
Ruckus is a founding member of the CBRS Alliance, a group that believes in utilizing shared spectrum to improve both indoor and outdoor coverage, and bringing a new ecosystem of LTE-based shared spectrum solutions to market.
Ruckus even used MWC to launch its own dedicated “news channel” – RuckusTV. Packed with case studies, interviews and fun things to do around Barcelona during the show, we had more than 130k views of our video content on Facebook alone. Check out some of our most engaging content from our social channels.
With more than 100,000 attendees from across the globe MWC was a huge success for everyone involved including 220 meetings in total including 30 press/analyst interviews.
With all these fantastic results, we can’t wait to do it all again next year. See you in 2019, Barcelona!
